Listening to the Eggs
The eggs are never left to get chilled even when Dolly must leave occasionally to take care of business - the instant she is gone, Dan comes to guard the eggs, and 'whisper' to them in his tiny cheeps, of his hopes and dreams for them.
As the days grow nearer to the hatch date, he occasionally stops 'talking' and tilts his head near the eggs, listening... do you suppose the chicks inside the eggs are 'talking' back to him?
