Chip by Chip Soon Dan decides he is just too excited to stand still any longer, and goes off to eat some baby-food, leaving Dolly to guard the chick as it slowly widens the gap between the two halves of its shell ... it seems he wants to be ready to feed the instant his chick is ready to eat! He does not seem to realize that it will be some hours yet before the chick's first meal - but I am sure Dolly will allow him to feed her a bite or two until then!
