Welcome to the

Canary Cam Archives

The Birdy Swimming Hole

There is a lot of activity going on between Cam shots when the Birdy Swimming Hole is up! It's hard to tell from these shots, but this little hen has been flying back and forth, with occasional pauses to preen a little.

The rest of the canaries have been equally busy - behind her, the gang that was in the water a few seconds ago are now all shaking their feathers on some perch or other, while the next group has paused on the edge of the tubbie, about to dive in. Those little wings can actually throw drops of water for up to five and six feet!

Bouncing in and out of the tubbie, over and over again.

This site is dedicated to all of those who try to help others on our journey to a better
tomorrow, and especially to Jack Merkens, whose last words to me were "Promise
me you'll keep writing about those canaries! Never stop, ok? Promise!"
Okay, Jack. I promise.
