Welcome to the

Canary Cam Archives

Eggery

Peanut seems relieved to have Hotcha gone, and continues full-speed ahead with her nest. Her first egg was laid April 14th - here the Cam has caught her laying her second egg.

Her new partner comes from a family of canaries who generally dote on babies. He was named by the Flock (last year), when his seven-year-old mom, Mrs Bits, surprised me by hatching him out - I had thought her too old to have babies! They decided that this meant that he was her number-one son, and so gave him the name of 'Alpha' - plus 'Bits', for his mom.

This site is dedicated to all of those who try to help others on our journey to a better
tomorrow, and especially to Jack Merkens, whose last words to me were "Promise
me you'll keep writing about those canaries! Never stop, ok? Promise!"
Okay, Jack. I promise.
