Sneaking

As the two week incubation period begins, Alpha-Bits begins to stop by the nest occasionally, as if checking that everything is okay. He does not stay long, and never bothers Peanut - in fact, he seems a little in awe of her! She does not seem to mind, and mostly just ignores him.

Still, she does not bother to chase him away, although she has not yet accepted his offer to feed her. She is comfortable with allowing him to look over the eggs when she is not setting, which is the best sign of all that she has accepted him.

This site is dedicated to all of those who try to help others on our journey to a better
tomorrow, and especially to Jack Merkens, whose last words to me were "Promise
me you'll keep writing about those canaries! Never stop, ok? Promise!"
Okay, Jack. I promise.
