Welcome to the

Canary Cam Archives

Many Colors

On the bottom of the swing, from right to left, is Dolly (variegated green), and Mrs Bits, (variegated yellow, named after her grandmother). Pansy is in the lower middle, almost hidden at the back. On top is Ruby, an intensive red lipochrome. This is the colour often known as 'Red Factor' - which is both right and wrong.

This colour is one of the colours that a bird with the right genetics can show, true - but it is only one of many very different colours. Such a canary HAS the 'red factor', rather than being it, and it may not necessarily look like Ruby, either - some will, but many will not.

This site is dedicated to all of those who try to help others on our journey to a better
tomorrow, and especially to Jack Merkens, whose last words to me were "Promise
me you'll keep writing about those canaries! Never stop, ok? Promise!"
Okay, Jack. I promise.
