Sometimes You Gotta Stop...

...and smell the roses! Or in this case, just stop and rest for a second or two. The chicks have developed a routine where one sleeps, while the other begs - which doesn't give Mom much time off during her day!

This picture clearly shows that the feathers are beginning to unfurl, and also shows that a varigated canary doesn't just have light and dark feathers - he also has correspondingly light and dark skin where the feathers will be!
