Whazzat?   The chicks are spending more time out of the nest than in it these days, but still find it easier to convince Mom to feed them if they are in the nest. Perhaps there's some self-interest involved for her, too - she has already begun refurbishing the nest, preparatory to laying her next clutch of eggs - and full, fed youngsters are probably more easily convinced to leave her to it for a bit than hungry ones.
