Welcome to the

Canary Cam Archives

Oh Well!

The next morning finds them using the same routine. After all, with the chicks growing so well, why change it?

I have given up trying to band the babies - this time the band was too tight to remove, so Baby Doll threw the babies out with the bands! I removed the bands myself, and she allowed me to replace the babies.

Occasionally a parent will take strong exception to bands on her babies. In such cases, I have learned not to argue too much and risk losing the young. They will get split plastic bands once they are fledged and weaned.

The next morning, they are still using the same routine.

This site is dedicated to all of those who try to help others on our journey to a better
tomorrow, and especially to Jack Merkens, whose last words to me were "Promise
me you'll keep writing about those canaries! Never stop, ok? Promise!"
Okay, Jack. I promise.
