A 'Distraction' Nest

Baby Doll is getting obsessive about making a new nest, but the chicks are definitely too young yet.

Rather than disturb the nest itself (and the chicks), I put a new nest, complete with a liner and some loose nesting material, right beside the old one.

It is doubtful that Baby Doll will decide to build in the new nestpan - but it should help distract her for the few days the chicks need before they fledge.

This site is dedicated to all of those who try to help others on our journey to a better
tomorrow, and especially to Jack Merkens, whose last words to me were "Promise
me you'll keep writing about those canaries! Never stop, ok? Promise!"
Okay, Jack. I promise.
