Welcome to the

Canary Cam Archives

Like Magic!

Carefully, every so slowly, I reach into the cage, pick up the seedcup, chick and all, and slowly move it until he is right beside the old nest, then bump his chest lightly to encourage him step off the cup and onto the nest.

Seeming a little dazed by it all - I guess it's a lot for a little chickie to take in! - he gingerly steps off the cup and back onto the edge of his old nest.

His nestmate seems in awe of him, and crouches even further down into the nest until the Cam can barely see her.

Suddenly he's back home...

This site is dedicated to all of those who try to help others on our journey to a better
tomorrow, and especially to Jack Merkens, whose last words to me were "Promise
me you'll keep writing about those canaries! Never stop, ok? Promise!"
Okay, Jack. I promise.
