Welcome to the

Canary Cam Archives

15 Days Old

The chicks are now 16 and 15 days old, and each is now almost as big as their parents. Dolly and Dan are kept working almost every minute of their 15 hour day, trying to keep those never-quite-satisfied gullets filled.

Since the nest is so crowded, they are rarely seen together these days - one is filling his or her crop while the other is busy stuffing the chicks. Fledging (becoming able to leave) the nest is now only a matter of a day or two away.

We're almost as big as you now, Mom!

This site is dedicated to all of those who try to help others on our journey to a better
tomorrow, and especially to Jack Merkens, whose last words to me were "Promise
me you'll keep writing about those canaries! Never stop, ok? Promise!"
Okay, Jack. I promise.
