Taking Turns

Here you see again the chick flapping its wings to encourage Mom to keep feeding.   You won't see all of the chicks begging a single parent for feeding anymore - the nest is too crowded for that.

Rather, when a parent shows up to feed, two will beg, while the other two will lay there looking bored.   Those manners will be abruptly reversed when the other parent shows up!
