Welcome to the

Canary Cam Archives

21 Days

Although they don't know it yet, this is the chicks last day to sit in the nest - they are now 20 and 21 days old, and, with their father, are about to move to the weaning cage.

While he still feeds them, especially if they are sitting in the nest, they are now spending most of their time out and about the cage, experimenting with everything in sight.

In fact, this was the first time all day that all four were in the nest at the same time!   As you can tell, at three weeks from the first hatch date, it is a very tight fit in their old nest.

This site is dedicated to all of those who try to help others on our journey to a better
tomorrow, and especially to Jack Merkens, whose last words to me were "Promise
me you'll keep writing about those canaries! Never stop, ok? Promise!"
Okay, Jack. I promise.
