'Talking' To The Eggs Dan can't wait for the eggs to hatch, and sometimes tries to convince Dolly to move off the eggs, so he can feed the chicks he is sure must be there by now. Dolly is feeling generous today, and so lifts off the eggs enough to allow him to see that yes, they are still just eggs, and no, there is nobody in the nest to feed yet but her... All the same, they both spend a couple of minutes 'talking' in tiny peepery voices to the eggs - it has not been proven that the partially-developed chicks can hear them, but they sure seem to believe it!
