These two nicely show the two main feather types of canaries. They are actually almost identical in, but the style of feather changes their appearance.

      The bird on the left is a non-intensive red canary, also called 'buff red', while the bird on the right is an intensive red. Intensive birds are often termed 'yellow' irregardless of the actual colour - in this context, the word refers the feather structure, not colour.

      Neither is particularly thrilled with having his picture taken.
