Penny and Robby Bobbins

These two lovlies were a pair of waifs about to be abandoned when I took them in, and who could resist? Their friendly and confiding nature, their bouncy personalities and their lovely song all assist in making these birds great companions.

One of the most essential requirements to health for a Pekin Robin (also known as the Chinese Nightingale) is flying room. These birds must not be kept in too small a cage, or they will pine away, and die. I consider 4 feet by 3 feet by 6 feet a minimum size. They are also great at bug patrol; they love to gobble up such yummies as gigantic spiders and woodbugs or what have you...and if a stray grasshopper should ever get within range, look out!

Oh, and just for the record, these two turned out to both be hens.

Penny and Robby Bobbins, the Pekin Robins

This site is dedicated to all of those who try to help others on our journey to a better
tomorrow, and especially to Jack Merkens, whose last words to me were "Promise
me you'll keep writing about those canaries! Never stop, ok? Promise!"
Okay, Jack. I promise.
