Simple Treats

Canaries are easy to please. Here, a couple of uprooted rapeseed plants, in the midst of flowering, prove a welcome diversion, providing fun and exercise to a bunch of young canaries in mid-moult. They eat everything except the stringy stalks, including the soil along with the flowers, leaves, and buds. (another good reason to grow your greens organically). Just don't tell them that along with their fun, they're getting a good bit of nutrition as a bonus.

This site is dedicated to all of those who try to help others on our journey to a better
tomorrow, and especially to Jack Merkens, whose last words to me were "Promise
me you'll keep writing about those canaries! Never stop, ok? Promise!"
Okay, Jack. I promise.
